The gist: In a version of modern-day Paris, augmented people have grown so commonplace that super-strong “Tonic Girl” advertises salad kits on TV and a YouTuber holds a vote to rate superheroes from worst to greatest. The liaison officer for the super-powered community is police detective Moreau (Pio Marmai). While some enhanced people use their abilities to gain notoriety, others wear masks and fight crime. For years, Moreau worked closely with Pack Royal, which included the electricity-wielding Gigaman (Clovis Cornillac), Callista (Leila Bekhti), who has precognitive powers, and suave teleporter Monte Carlo (Benoit Poelvoorde).
When a series of flames erupt throughout Paris, Moreau discovers that superpowers are being sold as a street drug. Inhale deeply and blast flames from your palms after breaking the light stick. It’s that simple, until your ordinary mortal ass is killed by an overdose of abilities. The swarthy Naja (Swann Arlaud), who invented the procedure for surgically extracting superpowers, is unconcerned about the rising bloodshed. While his minions kidnap more enhanced people to put under the knife, Naja becomes increasingly deranged as a result of his own product. As Moreau and his reluctant new collaborator Schaltzmann (Vimala Pons) trace the links between Naja, a discredited psychologist who specializes in suppositories, and Naja, a disgraced psychologist who specializes in suppositories.
