On May 12, 2021, Netflix NFLX premiered the French film Oxygène (Oxygène). Oxygen is a film starring Mélanie Laurent about a young woman who wakes up inside a cryogenic pod. She has no idea who she is or how she got there, so she needs to get out now. A mission that is becoming increasingly urgent as she runs out of oxygen. She can only have a chance to live if she can reconstruct her memories. This thriller may keep you on the edge of your seat thanks to its claustrophobic atmosphere, but it will leave you wanting more.
Alexandre Aja is best known for his horror films, including High Tension, Crawl, and The Hills Have Eyes. With Oxygen, a suspenseful thriller written by Christie LeBlanc and produced by Vincent Maraval, Brahim Chioua, and Nomie Devide for Getaway Films, he creates a suspenseful thriller with echoes of what we’ve all been through this year. It’s a claustrophobic hour and a half of film with a lot of screaming and crying (wouldn’t you if you were trapped in a small space? ), but it’s a film that turns out to be much more than its premise suggested. The central mystery of the story—who is this young woman, where she is, and how did she end up there—will be solved. IMDB
